Katrina Disaster Relief


Contribute to hurricane reliefDuring this time of national crisis we all want to assist in any way we can. The AFT is seeking donations to the AFT Disaster Relief Fund and is working with local and state AFT leaders to direct those funds to fill the immediate needs of AFT members. Contributions should be made payable to the AFT, with "disaster relief" written in the memo portion of the check, and sent to: AFT Disaster Relief Fund, Attn: Connie Cordovilla, 555 New Jersey Ave. N.W., Washington, DC 20001.

To Make a Donation Locally Through the Red Cross:
By Credit Card - Either Online or by Phone (If you choose this method please let us know (bthoreson@aftmichigan.org or call 313-393-2200 or 800-638-8868).
Online: Go to: www.semredcross.org and click on 'How You Can Help' on the left side of your screen.
By Phone: Call: 313-833-2664 tell them you are a member of AFT Michigan
By Check - Make checks payable to either: AFT Michigan or AFT. On the memo line be sure to write Disaster Relief Fund. Mail to: AFT Michigan, 2661 East Jefferson, Detroit, MI 48207

To donate blood: There are donor centers in Ann Arbor, Berkley, Bloomfield, Dearborn, Detroit, Farmington Hills, Livonia, Port Huron, Riverview, and South Macomb. You may call AFT Michigan for phone numbers and addresses of these sites or Call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE. When you call be sure to mentions you are a member of AFT Michigan.
