Quality Services

We believe the Legislature can improve the quality of services by enacting laws that:

• Support a fair system of taxation that provides an adequate revenue base for quality public services.


• Support meaningful revenue sharing with local units of government.


• Protect the public against the negative impact of privatization of publicly provided services.


• Maintaining the right of collective bargaining for public employees.

Retirement Concerns

We believe the Legislature must be concerned about employees retirement by:

• Maintaining a public employee pension investment act that balances the need to be up to date, with the need to have pension funds invested prudently.


• Defending the right of local pension systems, governed by employees and employer trustees, to make independent decisions for their own systems.
