AFT Michigan Winter Professional Development Classes
The following winter classes will be offered at the AFT Michigan Main Office, 2661 E. Jefferson Ave., Detroit. They are free and open to all members. Some of these classes will earn you continuing education credits good toward your continuing certification. We are located near the corner of East Jefferson Ave. and Chene St., access to our parking lot is off of Larned Street at the rear of the building.

This training is designed to enhance the skills and provide the tools needed to become a more effective leader. The training will highlight strengthening the union by involving and activating the membership. Participants will learn about the state federation resources, services and programs important to running a local union and representing the membership.

(SB-CEUs: State Board Continuing Education Units (SB-CEUs) are given to individuals who have completed State Board approved professional development programs. You must attend a minimum of five contact hours in one track or workshop in order to be eligible for the minimum .5 SB-SEU credits. Three SB-CEUs are equivalent to one semester credit hour for certificate renewal.)
