How will I know if I need to meet the requirements?


The Education Requirements
There are four options available. You need to meet only one of these options by January 8, 2006.
  1. Hold an Associate's degree (or higher)
  2. Have completed the equivalent of 2 years (60 hours) of study at an institute of higher education
  3. Satisfy one of the state assessment tests. Basic Skills Test or WorkKeys Test: Reading level 4, Writing level 3 and Mathematics level 4
  4. Local Assessment (soon to be available)

Answer the questions in the following worksheet to find out if you meet the requirements or how much you may still need to do.

6. Have you taken WorkKeys and achieved the levels identified in the box above or satisfied the NCLB requirements through the Basic Skills Test?

If you have answered Yes to questions 4, 5, or 6 you have met the requirements. You do not need to go any further.

If you answered No to 4, 5, and 6, you have not yet met the requirements. The local assesment option was approved by the State Board of Education in February of 2004. Questions 7-10 will prove useful in determining if you have met this assessment.
